There are days when I feel lost in the current timeline and want to forget about the chaos and worries of everyday life. Perhaps I have reached the age where I realize that everything I am looking for is not in the external environment but is always in my mind. I kept searching in the distance but never stopped to look and listened to the call in my heart.
That day, with my camera, I leisurely walked on the campus of Pomona College. The image of students at school made me forget everyone’s worries and sadness; I felt like I was reliving that time. I missed my teachers and friends, happiness, and sad memories. Suddenly, everything came rushing back like a movie.
In the morning, gentle rays of sunlight shine through the foliage, creating beautiful clusters of sunny flowers. Around there, students gathered in groups of 5 or 7 people, laughing, joking, and talking. In the corners of the room, connecting rooms or hallways, some students sit alone or in groups of two or three to review and discuss a certain issue. They sit there with a cup of coffee or a quick sandwich before class. In the distance, couples walk and chat together.
Suddenly a beautiful image appeared, I couldn’t miss it and was lucky to take two photos when a student walked quickly into the lecture hall. He is racing against time to get to school on time. His footsteps stretched along the gentle morning sunlight. While thinking, I quickly pressed the shutter button twice before he disappeared into the hallway.
What are the TWO most impactful features that make your image a good photograph? Don’t be shy!
- An unexpected photo tells a story about the world around us. Sometimes we think and walk in a hurry, the world around us is helpless; the surrounding scenery fades into space when you are in a vibrant world.
- I love the gentle rays of sunlight printed on the wall and the main subject walking through it.
If you could make this photo again, what would be the ONE thing you would like to do better or different?
I call this photo one of my fortune photos that captured the main subject’s facial expressions and movements that I couldn’t have done better.
