Dawn D. Hester is a retired professional photographer, formerly a forensic photographer with the FBI and a photographer with the Air National Guard. After a full career behind the camera, she continues to approach photography with curiosity, openness, and the pleasure of seeing familiar places anew.
Her work moves between landscapes, nature, macro details, small towns, historic places, events, and sports, often focusing on subjects that might otherwise be overlooked. Whether working in film or digital, black and white or color, Hester uses photography to preserve fragments of everyday life — capturing what is here today and may be gone tomorrow.
