Giulio D’Ercole is an Italian photographer, documentary filmmaker and educator whose career spans more than three decades of photography, television and visual communication. Born in Rome, he began his professional life working in radio, theatre and television before moving to New York, where he worked as a senior producer for RAI Corporation.

In the early 2000s, D’Ercole turned his attention towards humanitarian documentaries and socially engaged photography. He later moved to Nairobi and founded Canvas Africa Productions, creating documentary and photographic projects for United Nations agencies and international NGOs. His work, centered on people, communities and social realities, has been exhibited internationally, including at the Lagos Photo Festival and the Venice Biennale.

After returning to Italy, Giulio D’Ercole continued his photographic practice while sharing his experience through teaching, workshops and photographic tours. Whether working with people, cities or landscapes, he approaches photography as a form of attentive observation—searching beyond the immediately visible to reveal atmosphere, human presence and the deeper stories contained within everyday life.

He is the founder of Rome Photo Fun Tours and Italy Photo Fun Tours.
