Moose Peterson is an American photographer, writer, and educator whose work has long centered on visual storytelling through wildlife, wild places, and aviation. According to his official biography, his photographic career developed into a business in 1981, and he later expanded his focus to aviation in 2008, carrying the same commitment to documenting and preserving heritage through images and stories.

Over the years, Peterson has built a substantial body of work as both a photographer and teacher. His site notes that he has been published in more than 143 magazines worldwide, authored 29 books, and shared his knowledge through writing, classes, and workshops. He was also an early adopter of digital photography, described on his site as the only wildlife photographer in the world to work strictly digital in the early years after receiving the Nikon D1 in 1999.

His official biography also highlights the recognition he has received for both his photography and conservation-minded approach, including serving as a Nikon Ambassador USA, receiving the John Muir Conservation Award, and working as a Research Associate with the Endangered Species Recovery Program. Beyond still photography, Peterson was the creative producer and photographer of the film Warbirds and The Men Who Flew Them, reflecting the same passion for aviation history that runs through much of his later work.
