Photography is my hobby or – should I say – my passion. I love to take photographs whenever I can and I will try my hand at anything. In fact, I don’t even think about genre when I am out and about. I just take images of things that catch my eye. I am always looking at photographs and wondering how they were created and this has helped me to develop.
I purchased a Fujifilm X-T4 a few years ago so I could have the capability of creating multiple exposures. I have tried on various occasions to do this but I have not really been that successful or managed to create something that really made me look at it and think ‘I love it’. It is a way of taking images that will probably not give you the same effect the second time you try, but it is getting easier to understand the process.
This particular image was edited in Photoshop to enhance the textures and the colours and cropped, picking out the area I liked.
I have always maintained I am not creative as I cannot paint and I cannot draw or even sew? A few of my creative friends kept telling me that the only person stopping me from being creative is ME! Although I didn’t believe it at first I am now starting to get more and more creative, so I guess they were right. I still will never be able to paint or draw or sew but I am happy just to be able to create in my own way. I recently went on a photographic retreat to Holland and the wonderful leader did have me paint and scrape on top of one of my printed images. I was very happy with the result.

The shapes, colours and textures make it for me, as they are three things I love in a photograph.
If you would be able to make this photo once again, what would be the ONE thing you would like to do better or different?
As it is a multiple exposure, I don’t think I can recreate specific changes I would like to see.
